Threats To Global Health And Health Reminders

Global health is the health of the world’s population. It will not just affect a single person or two.   It affects every citizen of individual nations. In such issue, potential threats with the greatest impacts are emphasized. This is why concerned individuals and groups work hand in hand to improve the health of every citizen and achieve fairness in the giving of health services. Health is wealth. Without it, the person fails to function and can’t achieve whatever he desires. You can only do a little when you are not in good health. Thus, global health is all about health for all. It is the improvement of health services in all countries, reduction of inconsistencies and protection against threats. The area of study or the scope is not limited to physical health because mental, emotional, social, psychological, and other aspects are also involved.

088 Global HealthTo whom can we address problems when it comes to global health hazards? The international agency to rely to is WHO (World Health Organization). This is the agency that will take care of the world’s health concerns. Other trusted agencies that perform their functions are the WFP (World Food Programme), UNICEF and the World Bank. The major initiative on world health is the United Nations Millenium Declaration and Millennium Development Goals. If the EFA  (Education For All) educational initiative focused on the improvement of early childhood care, children’s education (particularly women) and adult literacy, global health initiative focused on the improvement of health facilities and services to provide better interventions, diagnosis, vaccines, and cures. Now, what are potential threats to people’s health?

Not all countries afford the recent advances in the science and technology. Some countries are poor that the people cannot afford regular check-ups. Children cannot avail vaccines. Medicines are pricier. Hospitalization, medication, laboratory tests, and more are not that affordable. The truth is that we focus on developing and even already developed countries but put too little attention to poor countries. Too little attention result to little funding or none at all. Poverty is a threat to better health. There are countries where there are no proven tools exists, zero funding, inefficient services, and unavailability of well-trained professionals like doctors and surgeons. These conditions are threats to the world’s health initiative. What can we do to prevent and fight diarrhea diseases, HIV, tuberculosis, cancer, and other infectious plaque? How can we address issues on maternal and child health? A healthy well-being is not just about a healthy body but good nutrition. If we remain uneducated due to the absence of professionals and lack of services, our health will be put at risks.

We should not let threats put us down. There are ways to overcome obstacles. The key is on proper planning, implementation, application, education, and practice. Global health agency is concerned of every individual. This is why the organization tries to do outsourcing to collect funds for the sustainable growth and implementation of the project. Planning stage involves many professionals such as doctors, volunteers, researchers, government officer, and even educators. Planning is the stage wherein goals are presented and projects are laid down. Planning takes time but it is the most important. Implementation comes after. Goals won’t remain useless if not implemented. But, how will you do implementation? Goals should be processed through education. Educators should help people understand the importance of hygiene, regular check-ups, exercise, health diet, etc. If implementation is successful then practice makes perfect. People practicing proper ways of taking care of themselves and are health-conscious are happy people.  The global health continues to progress despite all threats. Anyways, there are reminders to remind individuals of what their shares are.
