Mobile Technology – An inseparable part of our daily life

If you are an urban resident, chances are, you will find half the public face down, busy doing something or the other with their phones when you venture outside of your house. People will be reading something, playing a game, texting furiously, talking to someone on the other end or even clicking a picture. The advent of the smartphone era has brought about huge changes in the way we live. Most people cannot live without their smartphones and feel lost if they have to part with them for some reason. Needless to say, the many advancements in mobile technology have made us all the more dependable on these handheld gadgets and made them an inseparable part of our lives.

It shatters people to lose their smartphones, especially if it is a high end one which cost them their monthly salary. Mobile technology has advanced rapidly and greatly over the last 2 decades. From a simple 2 way pager to bulky handsets to flip phones to basic cellphones to the trendy, slim and edgy smartphones of today, mobile technology has indeed come a very long way within a short span of time. The slimmer they get, the more technologically advanced these handhelds get. The average smartphone of today, besides being a device to talk to others, also serves as a text messenger, camera, GPS navigator, calculator, music player, internet provider, dictionary, games station and what not.

The advantages and disadvantages of mobile technology usage

The deadly and irresistible combination of an efficient smartphone and a marketplace teeming with varied kinds of interesting apps in the palm of your hand can get very addictive. In fact most people are addicted to their smartphones to some degree. However, too much of anything is not good and this applies to smartphone usage as well. A big issue that the youth of today are facing is the urge to always stay connected in virtual life and not giving as much importance to real life. They waste their time on gaming and social networking more than required and end up feeling low, aggressive and moody when they do not get the desired results from their online activities. Too much use of mobiles also results in the deterioration of vision, spoiling of relationships that were otherwise quite fine due to over communication and loosening of neck muscles. As for the benefits of mobile technology, they undoubtedly outweigh the cons. You have an app for almost everything today, be it buying things, reading books, playing games, getting the latest information from all over the world, connecting with people within seconds, learning new talents or languages, getting useful advice, etc. You name it, the app stores have it.

Addiction to mobile technology not going to decrease anytime soon

Mobile technology has enhanced our lives multifold and the addiction to its usage is not going to decrease anytime soon. Mobile manufacturers are competing very closely with each other in order to offer the best in technology to their customers and becoming the number one smartphone seller. So while some company offers the best smartphone camera in the market, another offers the most smooth functioning while a third offers the most interesting collection of apps through its online marketplace. The public is spoilt for choice when it comes to choosing a smartphone and the future of mobile technology appears brighter than ever.
